| Content | The assessment operation of passenger transportation industry of tour bus made by Directorate General of Highways in 2020 has been finished through three-stage operation, and a complete assessment result has been announced, based on the basic safety record, professional and technological management and branding operation items of these companies, 899 tour bus companies nationwide were assessed with their ranks; for 147 companies in Taichung-Changhua-Nantou district, 4 companies were listed as excellence awards, 84 companies were listed as rank A, 57 companies were listed as rank B, and two companies were not listed for their ranks (not reaching rank B); for assessment related information, you can search them at official website (https://www.thb.gov.tw/) or Motor Vehicles Service Network (https://www.mvdis.gov.tw/), and the general public can use those information as reference for selecting the lease of tour bus.
The chief of Taichung Motor Vehicles Office, Wu-Sheng Wei, said that in Taichung district, there were four companies (Yie-Cherng, Yun-Tung, Xie Hong, Hao Bin) listed as excellence award, and the rank means that the safety of operation of the companies has reached the standard of excellence, with perfect technological and professional management action and with branding management model set up; for those companies not listed with ranks, it meant that they have not reached the lowest safety standard set up by the Directorate General of Highways, and the Motor Vehicles Office will continue to help these companies for improvement, if there is no improvement seen after coaching, the highest penalty will be business operation pause.
The Directorate General of Highways has set up stricter and quantifiable new assessment standard, in the future, the tour bus companies will be assessed on two-year basis, and the result will be used as reference for the public to lease the tour bus. According to the assessment operation keys, there was dynamic adjustment mechanism for the assessment ranks of the companies, for companies above rank B, after the announcement of annual assessment result, the safety record will periodically checked each half year, if the safety record cannot conform to the rank standard, the rank will be lowered, in addition, if there is critical traffic accident happens, the rank of the safety record will be lowered too; for companies assessed as not listed with ranks, after the improvement has been reached, application for the checking of safety records of more than half year can be conducted, if it is confirmed that the standard of rank B has been reached, its rank can be changed into rank B. For companies assessed as rank A, it meant that they have reached the basic safety record and conformed to professional and technological management standard, therefore, they will be good selection targets for the consumers.
In order to coach the tour bus companies to make continuous improvement on safety management, Taichung Motor Vehicles Office has encouraged the organization group and the public to refer to the assessment score to select and lease a good tour bus, through the influential power from the consumers on the market, it is hoped that the autonomous and professional governance and business operation safety and service quality of domestic tour bus can be enhanced together, and Taichung Motor Vehicles Office will continue its coaching and implement all the safety management works for tour bus, hopefully, a good development environment can be created for domestic tour bus industry.
