Content When large vehicle is running on superhighway or express way carrying passenger above 4 years old, it is needed to wear seat belt
When vehicle is running under very high speed, if collision occurs, it usually leads to the out-of-control rotation and turnover of vehicle, therefore, correct wearing of seat belt can prevent personnel within the vehicle from being getting out of the vehicle due to strong inertia force, consequently, it can reduce the risk of secondary injury of being thrown away by the vehicle or being hit or run over by other vehicle.
According to the draft of “Uniform penalty standard and handling details for violating road traffic management event”, when an automobile is running on superhighway or express way, for the automobile driver, passenger on the front seat or passenger on the back seat for small automobile or passenger above four years old in large automobile, if they did not wear seat belt according to the regulation, the driver can be fined for 3000 to 6000 NT dollars, for large bus, taxi or leasing vehicle carrying more than two persons, if there is employed driver violating the regulation, the employed driver should be fined with the maximum of 6000 NT dollars. However, if the employed driver of the large bus, taxi or leasing vehicle in business has informed the passengers appropriately but the passengers still did not wear the seat belt, then the passengers should be penalized, and the fine should be from 3000 to 4500 NT dollars.
According to the overall description of revised draft of “Implementation and announcement method for wearing seat belt by automobile driver and passengers” from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication, when large automobile is running on superhighway or express way carrying passenger above four years old, the penalty for not wearing seat belt will be implemented starting from December 01, 2022, which is this year.
